Hello everyone, I have a question regarding the walking voltage of the human body. The surface resistance and grounding resistance of our EPA floor meet the ESD standards, and the personnel shoes also meet the requirements. However, when I test the walking voltage, I measure a value greater than 100V. How should I improve this? Additionally, we hope to control the walking voltage of the human body within 50V. Do you have any suggestions for this?

Since the flooring is the most expensive and hardest to change out, I suggest first trying different footwear options to get under the 100 V (or 50 V) as needed. If that doesn’t work, you may need to look at cleaning or waxing the floor with a conductive wax (if possible) before getting a new floor. If you clean or wax the floor, you will likely need to repeat this often. This would mean determining the frequency of cleaning or waxing, so the walking voltage doesn’t go above your requirements.
