Some questions about the course "How To's of In-Plant ESD Auditing and Evaluation Measurements (5 Credits) FC101"

My organization wants to purchase this ESDA course. I’m very sorry, but I couldn’t find the contact information for customer service on the website. I have the following questions and hope to get help.

  1. May I ask if this course is an online learning course? Are there any training materials that can be reviewed after class?

  2. Could you let me know that after the completion of this course, will there be a relevant certificate?

  3. Could you let me know that after completing this training, how much knowledge reserve is still needed to obtain the TR53 certification?

  4. Could you let me know that when auditing factories and workshops like EMS, what other certificates and certifications are recommended?

I’m very sorry, but I have quite a few questions. Excuse me. I’m not sure if it’s appropriate to post this here. Thank you for your support.

Greetings,

Thank you for contacting EOS/ESD Association, Inc. regarding the FC101 Online Course. Please see the responses below in bold:

  1. May I ask if this course is an online learning course? Are there any training materials that can be reviewed after class? This course is online, hosted on our LMS platform. The training is in a slide format that allows you to advance at your own pace. You will see the slide on the screen, with audio narration and a script of the spoken words. You will receive an email copy of the presentation material.
  2. Could you let me know that after the completion of this course, will there be a relevant certificate? If you are just purchasing this course, there is no certification attached. You will receive a certificate of course completion, but this does not include any type of certification.
  3. Could you let me know that after completing this training, how much knowledge reserve is still needed to obtain the TR53 certification? While this course may contain some information that is helpful for TR53® certification, it is a separate course and does not count towards TR53® certification. If you are interested in becoming TR53® certified, you would be interested in our ESD Compliance Verification Technician to TR53® course. You can find information about this course on our website here: EOS/ESD TR53 Technician Certification | EOS/ESD Association, Inc.
  4. Could you let me know that when auditing factories and workshops like EMS, what other certificates and certifications are recommended? The TR53® course listed above would be of interest. You may also be interested in our ESD Control Program Auditor Certification Course. You can find that course on our website here: ESD Control Program Auditor Certification | EOS/ESD Association, Inc.

Thank you very much for your prompt and helpful reply.
In fact, we are very interested in both of these training courses.
However, there is a practical issue here: our city is not in the United States. So I would like to ask:

  1. Are there any online training courses for these two courses?
  2. How many days and hours of training are required?
  3. Is the certification exam online?

Greetings,

Please see our response below in bold.

  1. Are there any online training courses for these two courses? The ESD Control Program Auditor course is fully online. The ESD Compliance Verification Technician to TR53® course is only in person.
  2. How many days and hours of training are required? ESD Control Program Auditor is around 2 hours in runtime with knowledge assessments. ESD Compliance Verification Technician to TR53® is a 3 day in person course with 2 days of training and an exam on the third day. You can find our current offerings on our website at https://www.esda.org/events.
  3. Is the certification exam online? see above

Could you please inform us whether it is possible to directly participate in the certification for the above two courses without prior training? In other words, is the training mandatory? Is training a prerequisite for obtaining a certification certificate?

Jack,

There are no prerequisites for either of the courses you are interested in. I don’t believe the ESDA has any prerequisites for any course or certification other than attending/watching the courses themselves and passing the tests. Thanks

Hello ,
Greeting of the day to all from India .
Yes, as Andy Sir has mentioned even I think that there are no rigid prerequisites to apply for the two certification program cited above by ESDA. However, some basic back ground or little experience on ESD control will make it easy to understand and attempt for certification programs.

Further , as ESDA has made very clear, the TR 53 Technician certification program is an in person certification program for 3 full days and initially you need to make the full payment on line through their link and later attend the same personally. No direct exam I suppose.

The other one ie; ESD Control Program Auditor certification is fully online self paced program which you can do at your convenience and after completing each module you need to complete the exam of that module and proceed to the next . After completing exams of all the 5 modules successfully ESDA will issue certification valid for 12 months which is to be renewed every 12 months once paying the required prescribed fee. But, the certification program link you would get only after making full payment on line. If you have some back ground on ESD Control and have gone through the ANSI ESD S 20 20 2021 and TR 53-010-2022, this auditor certification you can finish off in 4-6 hrs. To work as an internal ESD Control Program auditor or as a consultant or as a QC personnel this is really a good certification one can do on self pace.

Good day

Thank you

Thank you both very much for your replies. It has been of great help to me and I have basically understood the TR53 project.

Regarding another ESD Control Program Auditor Certification you mentioned "But, the certification program link you would get only after making full payment on line. "Regarding this point, may I have further confirmation?

On the third point of the project’s introduction page, "Cost: To enroll in this program, there is an official registration filing fee of $50.00 An exam fee of $50 will be applicable Course Registration $1,950 ". If I am very familiar with the current version of the standards, including S20.20 and TR53. If we need to obtain the certificate through the exam, the minimum payment required is an official registration filing fee plus An exam fee, that is, a total of $100.00 per person. Is that sufficient? Or do we have to include Course Registration $1,950?

Hello,
Greetings of the day from India .
Yes ; You need to make the payments separately through the respective links which you will get
when you click under Certifications for Personal certification , for ESD control Program Auditor Certification on ESDA’s website
Once that is done , within 24-48 hrs you will get the mail with link of ESDA academy and instructions for the Self Paced course and exam modules ( which appears automatically once you have completed the respective module).
Once you are through with all the 5 modules you will get the result on line immediately. But the certificate / badge link you will get from ESDA within next 24-48 hrs.

In nutshell ; First is Registration Fee / Second the Course fee / Third the Examination fee.
As you cannot proceed to the next module without passing exam of the previous module , you need to complete all three steps at once .
In case of not getting through any module in the first attempt , there is no issue and you can go for retake of the same till you are able to get through upon which only your next module will open.
To work as an internal ESD Control Program auditor or as a consultant or as a QC personnel this is really a good certification one can do on self pace. Audit check list in Excel format will be available with the course module which can be downloaded .

All the best . Please-go ahead .

"Regarding this point, may I have further confirmation? In order to achieve certification, you must pay for the course and take the exam. Once payment is provided online, we will email you a link to access the course materials.

What fees do we need to pay when we need to Renew the certificate 12 months later? Is the total amount $50.00, $100.00, or $2050.00?

Regarding EOS/ESD TR53 Technician Certification, has the ESDA official or authorized party carried out this project in China? Do you have any contact information?

Thank you very, very much to the ESDA official team and all the experts for your support.

Hello,
Greetings of the day from India
For the ESD Control Program Auditor certification, the annual renewal ( after 12 months from the date of registration) charges shall be $100.
For the TR53 certification which is an in person 3 day program, ESDA keeps advertising on their site under EVENTS heading which you can see from ESDAs website.

Good day and good luck
