Shelving ESD Requirement - Grounding wire

Hi,
The shelving/rack we using in EPA are metal frame and direct contact to ESD floor.

Without grounding wire on this shelving, our compliance verification measurement on point-to-ground is still well within <1 x 10E9 ohm requirement.
Is it still a MUST for us to put grounding wire? as we think this is redundant.

Thanks,
KK

Hello,

The must is in the measurement. If you are measuring less that 1x10E9, then you are compliant with ANSI/ESD S20.20.

Thanks John, appreciate it. Your reply carry weight.

In the fact, we are worry about the inspection results from what source or reason even it is meet requirement. In your quesstion, the shelving/rack are metal frame and direct contacted to floor, its havey will broke the PVC floor and lead to break away the grounded floor.
