S2020 requirement per ISO9001

Good day experts.

would like to ask how come that the requirement of ISO9001 is being checked during ESD audit? if we are to certify with ANSI and questions is related to ISO9001 requirement, how they can justify that the audit is valid? say requirement for product selection process and supplier management. this is not written in S20.20. how can the audit be validated?

thank you.

The reason they ask if a company is certified to ISO9001 is to ensure that a qualify management system (QMS) is working. ANSI/ESD S20.20 relies on a QMS system to handle items such as calibration, data collection, defect tracking without writing anything into ANSI/ESD S20.20.
If a company does not have a certified QMS system (and it could be automotive, areospace or any other), then there are additional process that would need to be assessed as part of ANSI/ESD S20.20.
