Resistance to Groundable point measurement

I am getting resistance to groundable point measurement is too high. what could be the reason for this?

Before I can answer, what is it you are trying to measure? Is it a worksurface, floor, garment or something else.

I am traying to measure worksurface.

I would check point to point on the mat to see if the worksurface is the problem. If that is good, then the connection from the mat to the groundable point must be the issue. Install another groundable point to try to clean or take apart the one there and reconnect.

Is this a soft mat or a hard laminate?

We checked point to point on the mat, it’s good. connection from the mat to the groundable point is not the issue either.
All these workbenches were passing couple months before and now they are failing. only one are passing which we have replaced with new mat and groundable point.
how come suddenly all groundable point can fail?

These are soft mats.

If point to point and point to groundable point measurments are all good, maybe you lost the connection to ground. I would check the groundable point to ground connection. If there has been some electical work done, it may be possible that the ground connection itself is the problem.

Hello , Greetings from India .
Well in the last reply our Respected JK Sir has given the solution to you to find out the root cause.
But , to enjoy discussing in the forum, I wish to pen few lines.

  1. You have not mentioned how long these mats are in use but have just mentioned all the work benches were passing couple of months before and now they are failing and only one new mat passing w.r.t ground able point
Does it mean that the new mat also is not passing w.r.t to the physical ground ?
Because you have mentioned the P-P resistance of all good and P-Rgp not an issue either
  2. Thus ; if your are claiming that all mats are failing the Rgt CV test then as JK sir has pointed out the issue could be a disconnection in your physical ground connection only.
  3. Thus ,check your basic equipment ground if you are using the EG directly or else the bonding point resistance between EG and the Auxiliary ground if the mats are grounded through an Auxiliary ground .
  4. Why not to use online work station monitors which will indicate work surface failure anytime when there is a failure w.r.t ground fault?
  5. How frequently you check your ground resistance ?

Thank you and share the result in the group after checking your ground connection provided to the mat.
