Need of ionizers

Hello,

Considering the need for static control with ungrounded conductors above 35V and out-of-spec insulators, is there a risk of static charge buildup on a PCB when it’s heated in a rework station?

Also question: do you usually have ionizers in your rework stations? what is your technical rationale? (besides ungrounded conductors above 35V and out-of-spec insulators)

Thank you!

No matter what process step or workstation, ionizers were only put in place when there were process required insulators or isolated conductors that could not be controlled by any other method. It did not matter if it was a process step or rework station
