Will I need a tailoring statement to eliminate the need for moderate level RH testing for product qualifications or is it a given that most of these methods will be moving towards requiring only low humidity conditioning? I believe STM11.31 shielding bags would be the exception and will still require moderate RH testing for PQ.
This is a good question. While it may be technically correct to have a tailoring statement, the current version of ANSI/ESD S20.20 does allow for qualification at the lowest Rh level in the facility. In this case, since the testing is done at 12%, that could be considered the lowest Rh that your facility has. That logic does not require a tailoring statement.
Given the current direction, I don’t think you need to add a tailoring statement to your document if you test everything to 12%Rh, except for shielding bags.
