Hi ESD Experts,
How should the frequency of compliance verification testing for ESD control projects be evaluated?
For example, is there a calculation method to evaluate whether quarterly or monthly measurements are suitable for the project
thank you.
regards,tingjun
Hi Tingjunyang,
There is no calculation method to evaluate whether quarterly or monthly measurements are suitable for the carrying out the ESD compliance verification. It ranges from daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and/or yearly depending on how the organization wants to define the interval taking into consideration the frequent use of these ESD control items, past failures if any, and/or customer requirements.
As Siew-Ti stated, there is no requirement or calculator to guide you through this as there are simply too many variables. In my experience key decision making factors are what does your customer expect, are there specific industry standards you must meet and what can your site support. Of course as in any control item a key to success is to document what you are going to do and have evidence available to show you are doing what’s documented. You can always make changes if what you state is not sufficient for a particular customer. But that would be opportunity for improvement vs stating something you are actually not able to support which could equate to a finding. Good luck and hope this helps.

Chris
Thank you very much! Due to previous references to determining the frequency of regular compliance verification in a certain document, it is now recalled that Appendix A A.5 in TR19.0-01-22 provides information on determining the frequency of regular compliance verification.
